The Inclusive Basketball Program is a group program in which individuals with developmental disabilities and individuals without disabilities participate together as partners under the guidance of adapted physical education teachers and professional basketball coaches. Through a variety of basketball activities such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, participants with developmental disabilities are able to develop social interaction skills and improve their physical health. The program also helps participants build friendships with their assigned partners while directly enhancing their social communication and interpersonal skills through meaningful interaction and teamwork.
Goals for individuals with developmental disabilities:
Improvement in social interaction and communication skills
Reduction of daily stress
Improvement of physical health
Details:
Duration: 15 weeks (including orientation)
Time: Fridays, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM (1 hour and 30 minutes)
Location: Fullerton Community Center (340 W Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton, CA 92832)

The Harmonia Ensemble Program is an inclusive music program in which individuals with and without developmental disabilities come together to create music under the guidance of a professional orchestra conductor. Through the ensemble process of performing a variety of music, including classical pieces and film scores, participants are able to develop nonverbal communication skills and learn self-regulation. In addition, the program supports the development of social interaction skills through a monthly Social Activity Day, where participants engage in meaningful social experiences together.
Goals for individuals with developmental disabilities:
Improvement in verbal and nonverbal social interaction and communication skills
Increased self-confidence through the process of creating and performing music
Development of concentration and self-regulation skills

Time: Wednesdays, 5:30 - 7 PM (1 hour and 30 minutes)
