한미특수교육센터 3월 Newsletter 입니다 🏽  바람과 새소리가 어쩐지 달라진 듯 느껴지시나요? 그렇다면 봄이 온 겁니다! 다가오는 날에는 밝은 봄볕이 모두에게 가닿기를 희망합니다. 이번 3월에는 우리 커뮤니티에서 발달장애에 대한 인식을 높이는 걸음을 성큼 내딛어볼까요? (이 뉴스 레터 하단에 팝 퀴즈가 있습니다! 놓치지 마세요!) Spring is upon us! Flowers blooming, birds chirping–we hope this spring will bring a bright sunshine on everyone. Let us march through March and raise much needed awareness about developmental disabilities in our community this month.  (There will be a pop quiz on the bottom of this newsletter !) Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month 미국에서는 6백만명이 넘는 사람들이 한 가지 이상의 발달장애를 가지고 있으며, 지난 10년간 발달장애 유병률은 17.1% 증가했습니다(CDC). 매년 3월은 발달장애인식의 달로서, 발달장애인들에게 격려와 기회를 제공하고자 1987년 레이건 대통령의 공식 선포로 지정되었습니다. 한미특수교육센터에서는 날마다 발달장애를 인식하고 기념합니다. 이번 3월, 우리 커뮤니티에 평등과 기회, 올바른 인식을 불러일으키는 노력에 함께 해주시겠어요? Developmental disabilities include, but not limited to.. ADHD Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Cerebral Palsy Down Syndrome Intellectual Disability (ID) Language/Speech disorders Learning disorders Vision/hearing impairment Over 6 million people in the United States have one or more developmental disabilities, and the prevalence rate of DDs increased 17.1% since a decade ago (CDC). Officially proclaimed by President Reagan in 1987, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month has been celebrated in March to provide encouragement and opportunities. KASEC is celebrating individuals with developmental disabilities everyday. This March, we invite you to join the march to bring equity, opportunity, and awareness to our community! Your pledge can help a child get a developmental screening when it is the most crucial time. Your pledge can support a student with developmental disabilities to receive quality services. KASEC’s First Book Concert   센터의 첫 북콘서트를 멋지게 마쳤습니다. 그야말로 전세계에서 모여주신 170명의 참여자들께 진심으로 감사드립니다. Click to watch the Book Concert Upcoming Parent Survey 한미특수교육센터는 팬데믹이 시작된 이후 발달장애 커뮤니티의 필요를 정확히 파악하고 부응하기 위해 노력해 왔습니다. 세상이 멈춘듯이 지나온 시간이 어느덧 1년이 된 지금, 저희 센터에서는 다시 한번 여러분의 필요가 무엇인지를 알아보고자 합니다. 3월 중순에 설문조사를 진행할 예정이니 이메일을 꼭 확인해 주십시오.    KASEC has been on our feet to accurately identify, address, and meet the needs of developmental disabilities community since the pandemic broke out. It has been nearly an year since the world shut down and we would like to know what our community needs at this point. UCLA-커뮤니티연합 원격컨퍼런스 UCLA Annual Autism Conference: Mapping Your Future UCLA의 자폐증 컨퍼런스에서 최초로 한국어로 진행되는 세션을 제공합니다. 등록은 무료이며, 자폐스펙트럼 장애인의 자기결정과 COVID 대처기술 및 성공전략 등에 대해 배울 수 있습니다. 또한 한미특수교육센터를 대표하여 케빈 마 선생님이 원격학습에 관한 팁을 나누어주실 예정입니다.  For the first time, UCLA is offering a segment of Autism Conference in Korean. Register for free and learn about self-determination and COVID coping skills and successes for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Representing KASEC, Coach Kevin will share virtual learning tips as well Click here for more information 원격수업과 보호장비 착용 온라인 부모교육  How can family help with virtual Learning and wearing PPE?  랜터맨 Regional Center에서 온라인 부모교육을 제공합니다. 가정에서 온라인학습경험을 어떻게 향상시켜나갈 수 있을지, 그리고 외출시 마스크 쓰는 법을 자녀들에게 어떻게 가르칠 것인지 등을 다룹니다. Lanterman Regional Center is offering a virtual parent education on how family members can enhance virtual learning experience and how to teach children wear their masks outside.
