한미특수교육센터 11월 Newsletter에 오신 것을 환영합니다 10명 중 한 명 꼴로 일생에 한 번은 발작(경련)을 경험하며, 26명 중 한 명은 뇌전증을 갖게 됩니다. 뇌전증은 뇌신경 세포의 이상으로 만성적인 발작이 발생하는 질환으로서 당사자의 신체, 정신적 건강에 많은 영향을 미칠 수 있습니다. 따라서 사회적으로 뇌전증에 대한 올바른 이해와 인식이 조성될 때 뇌전증을 가진 이들이 겪는 어려움을 한결 덜어줄 수 있습니다. 누군가에게 뇌전증 발작이 일어난다면 다음 세 가지 기본수칙으로 도움을 주십시오. : 곁에 머물러 있기(Stay)-안전하게 보호하기(Safely)-옆으로 돌아눕히기(Sideways). 3S로 기억하세요! (이 뉴스레터 하단에 팝 퀴즈가 있습니다! 놓치지 마세요!) 1 in 10 people will experience seizure once in their lifetime, and 1 in 26 will develop epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder causing series of seizure episodes, and it affects individual’s mental, emotional, and physical health. When community members are aware of what epilepsy is and how they can help, it can bring hope to those experience the challenges of epilepsy. Remember three S when someone is having an episode of epilepsy: Stay with them, keep them Safe from harmful objects, and turn them Sideways to secure airway. (There will be a pop quiz on the bottom of this newsletter !) Good News to share!🥳   우리 센터의 자랑인 윤여광 박사님이 드디어 BCBA 자격증을 취득했습니다!! 이제 정식 BCBA로서 우리 프로그램의 개발과 연구에 한층 더 매진할 수 있게 되어 우리 센터로서도 정말 든든합니다. 자녀양육 코칭과 컨설팅이 필요하신 분들께도 센터의 문은 항상 열려 있습니다! Our beloved Dr. Yun received his Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in October! As a board certified analyst, he will be able to contribute more research and ABA based strategies to develop our programs. We are blessed to have such talented individual on our team! Wellness November Activity🧘   한미특수교육센터의 Parent Empowerment group은 발달장애 자녀를 두신 부모님들을 위한 다양한 정보를 제공하고 부모님들간의 친교와 연대를 지원하는 따뜻한 모임입니다. 이번 11월 모임에서는 요가(스트레칭) 활동이 마련됩니다. 부모님의 신체적 건강과 웰빙도 챙기고! 전문가로부터 유용한 양육노하우도 듣고! 선후배 부모님들간에 편안한 수다와 사귐은 기본입니다! 요가를 통해 스트레스를 해소하시고 싶은 분들은 지금 바로 신청하세요, 공간에 제한이 있어 이번 달에는 선착순10분께만 기회를 드립니다.     대상 : 발달장애 자녀를 두신 부모님  준비물: 편안한 옷 차림, 운동 매트, 수건 시간: 11월 8일(월), 10:30시 ~ 12시, 장소: Fullerton community center Join our November parent empower group activity!
