한미특수교육센터 4월 Newsletter 입니다 🧩  Autism Awareness Month🧩 54명 중 1명의 아동이 자폐스펙트럼 장애 진단을 받습니다. 자폐증은 일생 동안 지속되는 발달장애로서 의사소통, 사회적 기술, 인지능력 등에 영향을 미치며, 개개인별로 다양한 스펙트럼을 보입니다. 1972년에 Autism Society(미국 자폐 협회)는 자폐증에 대한 인식 확산과 수용, 변화를 촉구하며 ‘자폐증 수용의 달(Autism Acceptance Month)’을 처음으로 시작했습니다. 이후로 자폐인들의 교육과 지역사회 통합을 위한 활발한 캠페인과 노력들이 이루어졌습니다. 지금 잠시 시간을 내어 자폐증에 대해 알아보십시오. 바로 여러분이 우리 사회를 변화시킬 수도 있습니다.  1 in every 54 children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a lifelong developmental disability with a vast range of severities affecting communication, social skills, and intellectual abilities. in 1972, Autism Society first launched the concept of Autism Acceptance Month (AAM) to spread awareness, promote acceptance and ignite changes. Society thriving with an inclusion and acceptance comes from constant education and awareness. Please take 3 minutes to learn more about Autism today and be the change our community needs! Give us Wings to fly!  4월 2일 자폐인식의 날을 기념하기 위해, 한미특수교육센터에서는 자폐증 자녀를 둔 두 가정을 초대하여 공동 아트 프로젝트를 시작했습니다. Aiden과 Connor, 그리고 sister들인 Lauren과 Kirsten이 함께 하여 정성껏 페인팅 작업을 했습니다. 조만간 KASEC의 한쪽벽을 장식할 멋진 한 쌍의 날개를 기대해주세요. To celebrate April 2, Autism Awareness Day, we invited two families with children with autism to have a collaborative art project. Aiden and Connor helped painting a set of wings on KASEC’s office wall, and their sisters Lauren and Kirsten also joined to create the wings. This April, join us to give our students beautiful wings to fly! “It was a meaningful project bringing friends and family together. COVID Parents Survey Result    팬데믹으로 온 세상의 셔터가 내려진 지 1년이 되었습니다. 한미특수교육센터에서는 COVID-19이 발달장애 커뮤니티에 미친 영향과 현 상황, 그리고 이로 인한 새로운 필요들을 파악하기 위해 설문조사를 진행했습니다. 발달장애인들과 그 가정의 필요를 민감하게 인식하고 잘 지원할 수 있도록 언제나 최선의 노력을 다하겠습니다.  It has been a year since the world shut down with the pandemic. In order to meet our community where they are, we conducted a parent survey on the newfound needs and the impact of COVID. We will put our best effort to always stay aware of the needs of our community and serve them. Click the link below to access the result. COVID Parent survey result | 설문 조사 결과보기 Dream Art Contest for individuals with developmental disabilities  2021 발달장애인 미술대회 Dream Art Contest를 개최합니다. 작품의 주제는 4계절입니다. 드로잉, 페인팅, 미디어 아트 등 미술작업에 관심 있는 발달장애인이라면 누구든 본인의 작품을 제출할 수 있습니다. 최종 수상자 12명의 작품은 2022년 한미특수교육센터의 달력으로 제작될 예정입니다. 자세한 사항은 아래 링크를 클릭하세요.  We are now accepting artworks for 2021 Dream Art Contest for individuals with developmental disabilities! The theme is Seasons, and any individuals with developmental disabilities interested in drawing, painting, or media arts are welcome to submit their artwork. 12 winners’ artworks will be featured in KASEC 2022 calendar!
